Presbyter
He was born on January 16, 1885, in the village of Pozhar'e, Tver Province, into the family of a priest. In 1904, he graduated from the Tver Theological Seminary and worked as a teacher in a theological school. In 1911, he was ordained a priest. His brother, the holy martyr Basil, also became a priest and faced persecution. In 1930, he was arrested and sent to a concentration camp, but after two years, he returned to his ministry. In 1934, both brothers were arrested on charges of counter-revolutionary activities. Despite torture and pressure from the investigation, they did not confess to any wrongdoing. In 1937, they were arrested again and executed on November 3, 1937. They were canonized as saints at the Jubilee Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in August 2000.
