John Blinov
Confessor
The Confessor John was born in 1874 in the village of Krasnoe, Vladimir Province. In 1920, he became a psalmist in the Znamenskaya Church. On February 10, 1930, he was arrested by OGPU agents on charges of anti-Soviet activity. The villagers sent a petition for his release, signed by more than fifty residents. After the investigation, he was offered to become an informer, to which he agreed, but he did not provide any information. On January 21, 1931, he was arrested for the second time and imprisoned. On July 3, 1931, the OGPU troika sentenced him to three years of exile in Kazakhstan. He died on April 1, 1933, in exile and was buried in an unmarked grave.
