Elijah, Prov and Aris, Egyptians
Martyrs
The saints Elias, Probus, and Aris, coming from Egypt, confessed the Christian faith and comforted those suffering for Christ. They visited the Cilician land and were detained by the unbelieving guards upon entering the city of Ascalon, where they were presented to the prince Firmilian. During the interrogation, they declared themselves Christians and underwent severe tortures. Saint Aris was the first to endure torture and was burned. Then Saint Probus was beheaded and Saint Elias was also beheaded after many sufferings. All the martyrs suffered in the year 308.
