Saint Hierotheos was a member of the Areopagus and was converted to Christianity by Saint Apostle Paul, who appointed him as the bishop of Athens. He was present at the burial of the Most Holy Theotokos, singing divine hymns, which made him known as a righteous man. Saint Hierotheos lived piously, pleasing God, and died a martyr in the 1st century A.D.
