Martyrs James, presbyter, Azadanus and Abdicius, deacons, Persians
Martyrs
The holy martyrs James the presbyter and deacons Azadan and Avdiky died in Persia under the reign of King Shapur around the year 380. They were taken together with Bishop Akepisym. After a long torment of hunger in prison, the sufferers had mustard with vinegar inserted into their nostrils, were stripped, and hung out all night in the frost. In the morning, after new tortures, they were again imprisoned and there beheaded.
