Saint Gregory was born on January 26, 1875, in the village of Tepliy Stan, Moscow Province. After graduating from the Vifanskaya Theological Seminary in 1898, he became a teacher at the parish school. In 1900, he was ordained as a priest at the Trinity Church in the village of Tepliy Stan. In 1922, he protested against the confiscation of church valuables, for which he was arrested. The head of the district police department ordered his arrest, and he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. In 1931, Archpriest Gregory was transferred to the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky Church in the village of Kubinka. On November 27, 1937, he was arrested during a meeting, accused of counter-revolutionary activities, and shot on December 8, 1937. He was buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo firing range near Moscow.
