The martyr Grigory Ivanovich Dolinin was born in 1875 in the village of Khokhlovo, Nizhny Novgorod province. He came from a peasant family and received an education in a rural school. Before the revolution, he worked as a clerk. From 1926, he served as a psalmist in the church of one of the villages in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In 1930, he was 'dekulakized' and sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp for serving the Church. In 1932, he was released early and returned to his duties as a psalmist. On December 31, 1934, Grigory Dolinin was arrested on charges of 'anti-Soviet agitation' and sentenced to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan. He was first sent by train to Alma-Ata, then transferred to Shcherbakty. On November 21, 1937, Grigory Dolinin was arrested in exile on charges of counter-revolutionary propaganda and participation in illegal services. During the investigation, he stated that he was not part of a counter-revolutionary group and only participated in spiritual discussions. After the death sentence was handed down by the troika of the NKVD, the martyr Grigory Dolinin was executed by shooting on November 28, 1937.
