Confessor George (Egor Egorovich Sedov) was born in 1883 in the village of Churilovo, Vladimir province, into a peasant family. From his youth, he engaged in peasant labor and was a faithful Christian, undeterred by repression. In 1925, he met Bishop Athanasius, became his spiritual son, and assisted him during difficult times. In 1932, he was arrested, his family was dispossessed, but he did not lose his faith. After his release, he worked as a shepherd and bought a house for his family in Tutayev, where he became a parishioner of the Assumption Church. In 1943, he was arrested again, but the investigation could not find grounds for condemnation. After his release, he took Bishop Athanasius into his home, where he lived for 11 months. In the 1950s, he became the elder of the Resurrection Church, restoring it until his death on December 16, 1960. He was buried in the Tutayev city cemetery, and his holy relics are located in the Tutayev cathedral.
