Gabriel Lesnovsky
Venerable
Saint Gabriel, the founder of the Lesnovo Monastery near the city of Kratovo, after the death of his parents, renounced marriage and went to the Lesnovo Mountain, becoming a monk. He built a church in the name of the Archangel Michael, gathered many monks, and appointed an abbot. However, leaving the monastery and all his possessions, he hid in a mountain cave, where he labored for thirty years, overcoming demonic temptations through fasting and prayer. Then he returned to the Lesnovo monastery and peacefully reposed. Thirty years later, his relics were found, at which healings took place. After a long time, they were transferred to Tarnovo (Tyrnovo) in Bulgaria.
