Saint Philotheus the Presbyter in Asia Minor
Venerable
Saint Philotheus, originally from the village of Muravyevo, entered into marriage and had children before being ordained to the sacred ministry. He constantly fasted and prayed, for which he received the gift of wonderworking, performing many miracles in the name of Christ, including turning water into wine and moving a rock. The saint also demonstrated acts of love, feeding the hungry and helping those in need. After his death, a year later, during the attempt to transfer his relics, the saint, as if alive, stretched out his hands and stood up, taking three steps, after which he was laid back in his previous place, from where abundant myrrh began to flow.
