Martyrs Thiphael and his sister, Thivea (or Vivea)

Saint Martyr Thiphael and his sister Thivea courageously confessed their faith in Christ as the only true God and Creator of all things. They rejected the idols, calling them “empty statues.” Through their teachings and example, they converted many people to the true faith, until they were eventually seized by the pagans and subjected to severe torture.

Saint Thiphael was hung from a tree and brutally beaten, while Saint Thivea was executed with a spear thrust to her neck. Together, they surrendered their holy souls into the hands of God, praising and glorifying His grace.

They suffered martyrdom in the early second century during the reign of the Emperor Trajan.
