Saint Therapon of the Church of Sardica converted many Greek pagans to Christianity, enlightening them through the holy baptism. He was persecuted by the governor Julian and imprisoned, suffering for a long time from hunger and thirst. After his release, the saint endured further hardships as he was taken to Sinai and then to Ankara, where he again underwent many tortures. His tormentors beat him so severely that his skin was torn and the ground was soaked with his blood. The stakes to which he was tied miraculously blossomed, while their fruit acquired healing properties. Eventually, the saint was transferred to the region of Lydia, where, after many further tortures, he was put to death for confessing his faith, receiving from the Lord the crown of glory.
