Theosivia (Theozva), deaconess
Blessed
Blessed Theodora the Deaconess was the biological sister of Saints Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, and Peter, Bishop of Sebaste. She served the Holy Church as a deaconess, caring for the sick, distributing food to strangers, raising orphans, and preparing women for Holy Baptism. When her brother, Saint Gregory of Nyssa, was in exile for three years, Saint Theodora was with him and shared all the hardships of a wandering life. She passed away in the year 385, and Saint Gregory the Theologian honored her memory with a eulogy.
