Saint Feoktista was born on January 21, 1880, in the city of Kaluga to the family of Kaluga merchant Semen Chentsov. She engaged in the trade of hardware and graduated from the city school. In September 1937, she was arrested as an active believer, accused of counter-revolutionary activities. During interrogations, she denied all accusations, asserting that she did not organize secret prayers or anti-Soviet conversations. On November 19, 1937, the NKVD Troika sentenced her to ten years of imprisonment in a labor camp. Feoktista Semenovna passed away on February 16, 1942, in one of the Karaganda camps and was buried in an unmarked grave.
