Theodosius Boldyrev, presbyter

Saint Theodosius was born on February 8, 1868, in the village of Ekoleno, Voronezh province. He received his education in a monastery and was ordained a priest. In the 1930s, he was arrested and exiled; he returned from exile in 1935 and began serving in the church of the village of Afim'yevo in the Vyshnevolotsky district. On December 21, 1937, he was arrested again, and on December 27, the NKVD Troika sentenced him to execution. Priest Theodosius was shot on December 29, 1937, at the age of sixty-nine. He was canonized among the ranks of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia at the Jubilee Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in August 2000 for public veneration.
