Hieromonk
Saint Theodosius was born on February 7, 1874, in the village of Novoe Ivanovskoe, Tula Province. He received his initial education at the Moscow City School and then at the school of the Chudov Monastery, where he was tonsured into the mantle with the name Theodosius. On December 14, 1907, he was ordained as hierodeacon, and on January 14, 1911, as hieromonk.
In July 1915, he was dispatched to the active army and appointed as a priest of the 211th field reserve hospital, and in March 1916, he was transferred to the 161st Infantry Alexandropol Regiment. During military operations, he displayed courage, coming under enemy fire. On July 25, 1917, he returned to the Chudov Monastery, which was soon closed by the godless.
After the monastery's closure, he served in the church in the village of Odintsovo. In 1923, he was summoned to Moscow to the Novospassky Monastery, where he served as a regent and was later assigned to a parish in the village of Zaraz.
On June 11, 1930, he was sent to the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Vikhorna, where he served until his arrest. On January 20, 1938, he was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet agitation. During the interrogation, he did not admit his guilt. On February 8, the NKVD troika sentenced him to death by shooting. Saint Theodosius was shot on February 17, 1938, and buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo firing range near Moscow.
