Hieromartyr Theodosius Beletsky was born on March 23, 1885, in the village of Uspenskoe, Dnipropetrovsk region, in a priest's family. He graduated from the Theological Seminary, and in 1917 he accepted the sacred order and served in Ukraine until 1933.
In 1933, he was arrested and sentenced to three years of administrative exile in Kazakhstan. He lived in the village of Vannovka. After serving his term, he went to Almaty to see the bishop, but learned of his arrest. He then traveled to Tashkent, where he received permission to serve.
In January 1937, he arrived in the village of Sergeevka, where he began to perform services without permission. He was accused of agitating among the believers and baptizing children. He started conducting services in villages without formalizing lists of believers.
On April 6, 1937, he was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. On October 4, 1937, he was arrested. He was accused of illegal religious activity and discrediting Soviet power. On November 4, 1937, the troika of the NKVD sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment.
Hieromartyr Theodosius was shot on January 11, 1938. The place of his burial is unknown.
