Venerable Martyr

Saint Venerable Martyr Theodore (in the world, Fyodor Andreyevich Belkin) lived as a novice monk at the St Nicholas Belogorsky Monastery. On the 10th of October 1918, at the age of nineteen, he suffered a martyr's death at the hands of a group of Bolsheviks.

In August 2000, he was officially canonized and numbered among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia by the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.

His memory is celebrated on 25 August (12 August according to the Julian calendar), on the feast of the Synaxis of the Saints of the Perm Metropolis and on the feast of the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
