Saint Theodore was born on October 21, 1875, in the village of Kamensky, Yaroslavl Province. In 1890, he entered the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary, and after its completion, he continued his studies at the Moscow Theological Academy, graduating in 1900. In 1909, he was ordained as a priest at the Passion Monastery in Moscow, where he served until its closure in the 1920s. After the monastery was closed, he was assigned to the Church of the Sign of the Mother of God on Karetnaya Street in Moscow.
On April 14, 1931, he was arrested and imprisoned in Butyrka prison. He was accused of anti-Soviet activities. On April 30, 1931, he was sentenced to three years of exile in the Northern region. Upon returning to Moscow in 1934, he was unable to find a position as a priest and was sent to the village of Ivakino.
On December 1, 1937, he was arrested again and imprisoned in Taganka prison. During interrogations, he denied all accusations. On December 5, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution. Priest Theodore Alekseyevsky was shot on December 15, 1937, and buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
