Bishop
Saint Theodore, Bishop of Alexandria, was born in Egypt in Alexandria. He was a fervent preacher, which incited fierce hatred from the pagans. During one of his sermons, the pagans captured him, beat him, and mocked him, placing a crown of thorns upon his head. They threw him from a cliff into the sea, but he remained unharmed. Later, by order of the governor, the holy martyr was subjected to tortures and, without cursing his tormentors, was executed by the sword.
