Venerable Thaddeus the Confessor of the Studion
Venerable
Saint Fadey lived during the iconoclastic heresy. He was captured and brought to trial, where he was forced to trample on the holy icon of the Savior. Despite the violence, he refused to renounce his faith, stating that he was compelled to step on the icon against his will and that he worships it with joy. For this, he was brutally beaten, and believing him to be dead, they threw him out of the city. However, he was found by a pious Christian who washed him of the dirt. Saint Fadey lived for three more days and then surrendered his spirit to God in the year 818.
