Venerable Martyr Euthychius (in the world, Yefimiy Viktorovich Kachur) was born on December 26, 1891, in the settlement of Alekseyevka, Voronezh province. He took monastic vows under the name Euthychius and was a monk of the Mother of God Skete at the Kiev Brotherhood Monastery. His ordination to the priesthood took place after 1917. In the 1920s, he served as the abbot of the Markiyanovskyi Skete of the Vinnytsia Diocese, where he was awarded a pectoral cross for his diligent fulfillment of sacred-pastoral duties and steadfastness in the Holy Orthodoxy. Hieromonk Euthychius was arrested twice in 1924 and 1931. In 1937, while in the city of Zaraysk, he was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet agitation. During the interrogation, he did not confess to any wrongdoing. On November 27, 1937, the NKVD Troika sentenced him to death by shooting, which was carried out. The location of his burial is unknown. The name of the Venerable Martyr was included in the Synaxis of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia on December 27, 2000.
