The holy martyrs suffered for Christ during the persecution under Emperor Maximian (286–310). Saint Eustathius, a former pagan priest, converted to Christ after witnessing the courage of the Christian martyrs and their miracles. He received Holy Baptism from the Bishop of Antioch, Eudoxius, and was ordained as a presbyter. In the city of Lystra, he converted his nephew Gaius and all his household, including the youths Probus, Lollius, and Urbanus. Saint Eustathius was seized by the emperor's soldiers and brought to trial, where he, despite torture, did not renounce Christ. He was sent to the Galatian city of Ancyra to the governor Agrippinus, where all of them, including women and infants, were subjected to cruel tortures, yet they also did not renounce their faith and were beheaded.
