Martyr Eupsychius of Caesarea, in Cappadocia
Martyr
Saint Martyr Eupsychius was born and raised in Caesarea of Cappadocia. During the reign of the Emperor Hadrian, he was accused because of his faith in Christ. He was arrested and subjected to severe torture. He was then cast into prison, where, through his prayers, his wounds were healed by an angel of the Lord.
After being released, he distributed all his possessions to the poor, including to those who had previously slandered him. Later, under the authority of Prince Sapricius, the saint was arrested once again, suspended and tortured, until he ultimately had a martyr’s death by beheading. From his holy body there flowed milk and water instead of blood.
