Saint Eulogius, Patriarch of Alexandria
Venerable
Archbishop
Archbishop
Saint Evlogius was the abbot of the Mother of God Justinian Monastery in Antioch before being elected to the Alexandrian see by Emperor Tiberius II. In the Alexandrian diocese, he tirelessly fought against heretics, sending his writings to the Egyptian monasteries that suffered from Eutychianism. The saint also opposed the Samaritans, who claimed that Dositheus was a prophet. He convened a council to address this issue. Saint Evlogius passed away in deep old age around the year 608 on February 18.
