Holy Martyr Eugene Ivashko was born on August 26, 1899, into the family of a priest of the Minsk Diocese, Alexander Ivashko. In 1920, he graduated from the Minsk Theological Seminary. On April 1, 1924, he was ordained as a priest to the Pavlovich Church of the Bobruisk District. He served in various churches, including the Loshnitsa and Yurievich Churches.
In 1927, he was arrested and sentenced to three years of exile. After his exile, he continued his ministry in different churches, including the Medvetskoye and Voskresenskoye. In 1932, he was appointed to the Assumption Church in the city of Murom, where he left warm memories among the parishioners.
In the summer of 1937, the authorities began to persecute priests, and Fr. Eugene became the target of denunciations. On October 5, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned. During interrogations, he categorically denied all accusations. On November 9, the NKVD Troika issued a decision for the execution of the priest. Father Eugene Ivashko was executed on November 11, 1937.
