Martyr
Martyr Evgeny Fedorovich Dmitriev was born into the family of Priest Fedor Andreyevich Dmitriev and was the nephew of Priest Mikhail Dmitriev, who is canonized as a saint. He served as a psalmist in the John the Theologian Church in the village of Mitino, Ryazan Oblast. Later, he was conscripted into military service and worked at a factory in Perm. In 1937, he sent his last letter to his father asking to be given a funeral service. All the factory workers were arrested and, apparently, shot. The day of his martyr's death is August 31, 1937. By the decision of the Holy Synod on December 27, 2000, he was canonized for universal veneration.
