Saint Euphrosinus came from humble parents, but through his virtues, he surpassed many noble ones. In the monastery, he served the brethren in the kitchen with great humility and obedience, enduring slanders and annoyances. His labor and prayer prepared for him a feast in the Kingdom of God.
A certain priest, praying for a vision of future blessings, saw Euphrosinus in paradise. The saint confirmed that he was there by the great mercy of God and offered the priest to take three apples from paradise. Upon waking, the priest found the apples with a fragrant aroma and told the brethren about the vision. When they came to Euphrosinus, he was no longer there, as he avoided human glory.
The apples were divided among the brethren and used for healing the sick. By the prayers of Saint Euphrosinus, may the Lord grant us also the heavenly abodes! Amen.
