Venerable Euthymius and twelve other Monks, martyred at Vatopedi
Venerable Martyr
Saint Euphemios, the igumen of the Vatopedi Monastery, and with him 12 monks suffered in the 13th century on Mount Athos. They were martyred for denouncing the heresy of the Latinizing patriarchs Michael Palaiologos and John Beccus. The igumen was drowned in the sea, and the monks were hanged.
