Saint Evfaliya of Sicily
Martyr
Saint martyr Euphalia lived in the 3rd century in Sicily. Her mother, a pagan, suffered from bleeding and, having received a vision of the holy martyrs Alpheus, Philadelphus, and Cyprian in a dream, believed in Christ, was baptized, and was healed. She also baptized her daughter Euphalia. Euphalia's brother, Sermilian, upon learning of the baptism, wanted to kill their mother and brutally beat his sister, handing her over to a servant for defilement. Through prayer, Saint Euphalia blinded the servant, and she herself was beheaded by her brother.
