Venerable Martyr Eudokia, born on February 7, 1880, in the village of Cherevkovo, Solvychegodsky district of Vologda province, was destined to undergo numerous trials. The time of her tonsure is unknown, but before the revolution, she labored in a monastery and worked in a tailoring workshop. After being exiled with Metropolitan Kirill, she became a cell attendant in the village of Yanikurgan in the South Kazakhstan region. On July 13, 1937, she was arrested in Chimkent on charges of 'belonging to a counter-revolutionary organization,' but she did not confess to her guilt. On August 23, 1937, she was sentenced to the highest measure of punishment and was executed by shooting on August 27 in Chimkent. Venerable Martyr Eudokia was honored with glorification by the Archierarchical Jubilee Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
