Saint Martyr Eudokia was born on 7 February 1880 in the village of Cherevkovo, in the Solvychegodsky district of the Vologda region. Her life was marked by many trials. Although the exact date of her monastic tonsure is unknown, the saint was already living in a monastery before the Revolution, where she worked in the sewing workshop. Following the exile of Metropolitan Kirill, she moved to the village of Yanigkurgan in southern Kazakhstan.
On 13 July 1937, she was arrested in Chimkent on charges of belonging to a counter-revolutionary organisation. She courageously declared her innocence. On 23 August 1937, she was sentenced to death and executed in Chimkent on 27 August.
In 2000, Saint Eudokia was canonised by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church and numbered among the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Faith.
