Martyrs Hermes, Serapion, and Polyaenus of Rome (2nd c.)
Martyrs
Saints Hermas, Serapion, and Polyeinus were arrested by pagans for their confession of faith in Christ and their rejection of idolatry. They courageously appeared before the Roman governor and, despite the threat of imprisonment, refused to submit to his demands.
As a result, they were subjected to severe tortures. Their bodies were brutally beaten until they surrendered their souls to the Lord.
The Church celebrates their memory on August 18.
