Elizaveta Sidorova

Martyr Elisaveta Ivanovna Sidorova was born on September 5, 1875, in the village of Ivanovskoe, Nizhny Novgorod province. On September 13, 1937, she was arrested as an 'active church member' and 'participant in a counter-revolutionary church-fascist organization.' She was imprisoned in the city of Gorky, where she did not admit her guilt and refused to give testimony against other arrested individuals. On November 11, she was sentenced to death by the Special Troika of the NKVD and executed on November 20. She was buried in a common unmarked grave. She was glorified by the Archdiocesan Jubilee Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in the year 2000.
