Martyrs Domnina and her daughters Virineia (Veronica) and Proskudia (Prosdoka)
Martyrs
The martyr Domnina and her daughters Veronica and Proscudia lived in Antioch in Syria. During the reign of Emperor Diocletian, they suffered for Christ in the year 304.
Eusebius of Caesarea describes that Domnina, possessing beauty and a good reputation, raised her daughters in the true faith. Malevolent envious people tracked them down and summoned them to Antioch, where they fell into the trap of soldiers. In a desperate situation, Domnina offered her daughters refuge in the Lord, affirming that betraying their souls to demons was worse than any death. They, hiding under cloaks, plunged into the river that flowed nearby.
