Virgin Domnina of Syria
Venerable
Venerable Virgin Domnina labored in Syria, living in a tent that she set up in the garden of her mother's house. She continually shed tears, subsisted only on lentils soaked in water, and every morning and evening went to the house of God for prayer, covered from head to toe with a veil, so that no one could see her face. She died in peace between the years 450 and 460.
On the same day, the memory of the holy martyrs Markell and Antonios, who were burned by fire for Christ.
