Saint Domnica, along with four other maidens, arrived in Constantinople from Carthage during the reign of Emperor Theodosius the Great, still being a pagan. She sought to embrace Christianity and live according to the rules of pure faith. Archbishop of Constantinople, Saint Nectarios, received a revelation about her, baptized her, and ordained her as a deaconess. Emperor Leo gifted her land beyond the city limits, where she established a monastery in honor of Saint Zacharias and gathered around her virgins, striving in fasting. The saint performed many miracles, including saving sailors from storms. She had the gift of prophecy, foretold the death of the king, and saw an angel sanctifying the water. The saint peacefully reposed in deep old age, living until the reign of Leo and Zeno, having predicted the time of her departure to the Lord.
