Dimitri Dabudski
Martyr
The holy martyr Dimitri was from the village of Dabuda in Thrace. He suffered under the emperor Maximian Galerius and his co-ruler Maximin. The prefect of Thrace, Publius, learning of his Christian faith, ordered him to be captured. During the interrogation, Dimitri boldly confessed Christ as God, spoke of the Holy Spirit, and taught about the incarnation of Jesus Christ, rebuking the idolatrous deception. His words enraged the ruler, who ordered his head to be cut off. The holy martyr passed away, receiving from the Lord the heavenly crown. The honorable relics of the saint were buried by the faithful and emit healings to all who come to them.
