Martyrs Gaius, Dasius, and Zoticus at Nicomedia
Martyrs
The holy martyrs Dasius, Gaius, and Zotikos, while in Nicomedia, destroyed the idolatrous altars. For this, they were subjected to cruel tortures: they were suspended on a tree, scraped with a horse's comb, and their bodies were rubbed with hairy cloths. Seeing their steadfastness and preaching about Christ, the tormentors hung stones around their necks and threw them into the sea, where the saints found their repose.
The saints suffered a martyr's end during the reign of Diocletian in the year 303.
