Danactus of Illyria, Reader
Martyr
Saint martyr Danakt was from Illyria, from the city of Avlona, and served as a reader in the church. During the invasion of pagans, he tried to save the church vessels but was captured. The pagans forced him to offer a sacrifice to the god Dionysus, but he refused and suffered a martyr's death, pierced by a sword. The martyr's death of Saint Danakt occurred in the 2nd century.
