Martyrs Agapius, Atticus, Carterius, Istucarius, Pactobius, Eudoxius, Nictopolion
Martyrs
The holy martyrs Atticus and Eudoxius, during the reign of Decius, were soldiers in the city of Sebastia. For spreading the faith in Christ, they were captured by the commander Markell and subjected to cruel tortures. They were beaten with ox hides, had their teeth crushed, and were then imprisoned. Saint Catherine, responding to the commander’s question about the royal decrees, declared that he taught to believe in the immortal King Christ. Along with them were brought the saints Istucarius, Pactorius, and Nyctopolius, who also confessed Christ and endured many tortures. All of them were sentenced to be burned and completed their sufferings for the Lord.
