Victoria and Acisclus of Cordoba
Martyr
Aciskl and Victoria, brother and sister from Cordoba, suffered during the reign of Emperor Diocletian in the early IV century. Leading a righteous life, they were summoned to the official Dion during the persecutions of Christians. After long tortures, Aciskl was beheaded in the city amphitheater, and Victoria was shot with an arrow. The relics of the martyrs were taken out of the city by a noble matron Minziana and buried in her estate, where later a church was built, and in the XIII century a monastery was founded. Aciskl and Victoria are venerated in Spain as protectors during storms.
