Saint Artemon, Bishop of Seleucia

Saint Artemon was born in Seleucia of Pisidia. He grew up during the time of the holy Apostles, who enlightened the world with the teaching of the Gospel. When Apostle Paul came to the city, Artemon was distinguished for his compassionate nature and virtuous deeds. He was appointed as a preacher, becoming the first bishop of Seleucia of Pisidia. He cared for all people, showing piety, looking after the widows, the orphans, and the poor. He was a miraculous healer. Having lived a life of prayer and devotion, he passed away in peace when he was in a very old age.
