Hieromonk
Saint Apollos was born on March 11, 1892, in the village of Monoseevo, Moscow province, in the family of a peasant, Vasily Fedoseev. In 1914, he was accepted as a novice in the Valaam Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery. In 1916, he was drafted into the army, serving until 1917. On September 27, 1918, he entered as a novice in the Ioanno-Bogoslovsky Cheremenetsky Monastery. In 1920, he returned to the Cheremenetsky Monastery, founded in 1476. On January 1, 1922, he was tonsured into the mantle with the name Apollos. On January 14, 1929, he was ordained to the rank of hierodeacon and assigned to serve in the church in the village of Uspensky Pogost. On March 15, 1931, he was ordained as a hieromonk at the church in the village of Klimentovsky Pogost. In 1933, he was transferred to the Moscow diocese, serving in the Znamenskaya Church of the village of Kornevskoye. In 1934, he was transferred to the church of the village of Frol-Radushkino, and in July 1936, to the Holy Trinity Church of the village of Peski. On December 4, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in the Taganka prison in Moscow. He was accused of anti-Soviet activities but did not confess to his guilt. On December 9, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced him to death by shooting. On December 10, 1937, he was shot at the Butovo firing range and buried in an unknown common grave.
