Virgin-martyr Anna Ostroglazova
Martyr
The martyr Anna was born on November 19, 1900, in the city of Kaluga, in the family of priest Ioann Alexeevich Ostroglozov. After completing two courses at the Institute of People's Education, she worked as an accountant at the Kaluga Pedagogical School, where she established good relationships with teachers and students. Anna Ivanovna was a deeply believing and active churchgoer, which led to her arrest on October 16, 1937, on charges of counter-revolutionary activity. During the interrogations, she courageously denied all accusations, remaining faithful to her faith. The NKVD troika sentenced her to ten years of imprisonment in a labor camp, where she met a martyr's end from starvation.
