Anna Ivashkina, the Confessor of Ryazan

Anna Polikarpovna Ivashkina was born in 1894 in the village of Levino, Ryazan Province. After divorcing her husband, she married a widower with three children. In 1934, after the closure of the church in the village of Sheenki, she organized a prayer house. On the night of November 6, 1937, Anna was arrested as an 'active churchgoer' and sent to Ryazan. On December 6, 1937, she was sentenced to 10 years in a labor camp. She served her sentence in the camps. On November 6, 1947, after her sentence expired, she remained in the hospital due to illness and passed away.
