Saint Anastasia was born on December 16, 1890, in the village of Kuzyaevo, Volokolamsk district of Moscow province. In 1920, Anastasia's parents passed away, and she entered the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Monastery. She remained in the monastery until its closure in 1927, after which she moved to the village of Zanin. She served at the church in the village of Shestakovo and would read the Psalter for the deceased.
In 1930, the authorities intended to close the church in the village of Shestakovo. At a parish meeting discussing the illegality of the church's closure, Anastasia was arrested for 'resisting the representatives of the authorities.' She was sentenced to three months of imprisonment in a labor camp. Upon returning from imprisonment, Anastasia settled in the same village.
On February 13, 1938, Anastasia was interrogated and accused of counter-revolutionary agitation. On March 2, 1938, she was arrested and imprisoned in a jail in Volokolamsk. On March 9, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced Anastasia to execution. She was shot on April 5, 1938, and buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo firing range near Moscow.
