Saint Ananias was born in the city of Arbela in Persia. He was distinguished for his virtue and unwavering devotion to Christ. Enduring severe torture, he never renounced his faith and ultimately suffered martyrdom.

As he surrendered his soul to the Lord, he proclaimed:

"Pray to God, for I see a ladder reaching up to heaven and young men with radiant faces standing upon it, saying to me: 'Come with us. Come, and we shall lead you to a city filled with light and inexpressible joy.'"
