Saint Alvianos lived and became a martyr during the reign of Emperor Maximian, when Asia was under the rule of Elian. He was captured during a pagan sacrifice to the idols, where he was forced to offer a sacrifice. The saint responded with dignity, proclaiming his faith in Christ and rejecting the idols.
Because of this, he was subjected to cruel tortures. His tormentors tried to make him renounce Christ, but he and his disciple endured all sufferings with steadfast faith. In the end, the saint was condemned to death by fire.
The holy martyrs died in the year 304.
