Deacon
Alfey Anatolyevich Korbansky was born on November 18, 1871 (1873?) in Vologda into the family of a priest. He graduated from the Vologda Theological Seminary, was ordained as a deacon, and served in the Pokrovsky Church, and after its closure, in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Father Alfey was an unstable person, with a great sense of emotion, he would pronounce the requiem ektenias with tears in his eyes. On July 2, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in the Vologda prison, accused of anti-Soviet agitation. On August 6 of the same year, Deacon Alfey died in the prison hospital from chronic gastric catarrh. On March 9, 1970, he was rehabilitated. He was canonized among the new martyrs and confessors of Russia on July 17, 2001.
