Saint Martyr Alexius Krasnovsky was born in 1886 in the village of Rozhdestveno, Moscow province, in the family of a psalmist, Ivan Krasnovsky. He received his education in a church parish school, was ordained as a deacon, and then as a priest, serving in one of the churches in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo district.
In 1931, he was arrested and sentenced to two years of imprisonment for failing to fulfill agricultural assignments. However, after an appeal, the sentence was overturned, and he returned to his ministry. In 1934, he was appointed to a church in the village of Novinskoye, and in 1936, he was transferred to a church in the village of Maurinskoye, where he served until his arrest in 1937.
On September 23, 1937, he was summoned to give witness testimony, where he was accused of anti-Soviet sentiments. On October 1, he was arrested and sent to Taganka prison. On October 11, the NKVD troika sentenced him to ten years of imprisonment in a correctional labor camp.
In the Bamlage, where he was sent, he was accused of organizing counter-revolutionary meetings and anti-Soviet agitation. On March 31, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced him to death by shooting. Priest Alexius Krasnovsky was executed on August 11, 1938, and buried in a common unmarked grave.
